OrbImage (now GeoEye) provides satellite image data to government organizations and private businesses. BizTalk is used to process image acquisition request messages containing source file locations and recipient delivery information. Images requested via FTP were delivered using a custom background Windows service which monitored the database for requests and notified BizTalk upon success or exception. Requests for physical media were monitored from a WinForm user interface that burned DVDs and printed FexEx or UPS mailing labels automatically. A user would confirm the success or failure after manually verifying and packing the media for shipment.
